When should I book in my newborn session?

To ensure availability, it’s best to reserve your session while you’re still pregnant — I set aside limited spaces especially for you. You’re welcome to pre-book anytime from 15 weeks onward to hold your spot. Once your baby arrives, simply head to my booking page to schedule your session. If you don’t see any open slots, please reach out — I may have a reserved space waiting just for you.

My baby is older, can I still have baby photographed?

Absolutely! Newborns are ideally photographed within the first 3 weeks of life to capture those sleepy, curled-up poses. Around the 3-week mark, many babies develop a natural hormone-related rash (similar to baby acne) — I do retouch these in editing as much as possible. Older newborns tend to be more alert, which means we’ll capture more wakeful expressions and eye contact. That said, they often drift off toward the end of the session, allowing us to still get a few classic sleepy shots. I photograph “newborns” up to around 5 months old, so it’s never too late to capture beautiful images of your baby.

Do I need to book separate photoshoots for twins or multiples?

No! Twins or multiples are priced the same as a single baby, so you only need to book one photoshoot. The images included in your session will be shared between the babies. If you’d like to add extra images to your package, please contact us for pricing.

When should I schedule my maternity photoshoot?

Maternity sessions are best held between 32 to 36 weeks gestation.

Do you supply any maternity gowns?

Yes, I have a beautiful collection of gowns, along with fabrics for wrapping and tossing. For studio sessions, you’ll have full access to my wardrobe. For outdoor sessions, I’ll bring a curated selection based on your chosen colour palette. My gowns are designed to be easy and discreet to change into outdoors. You’re also very welcome to wear your own outfits if you prefer. You’ll find a section in my Prep Guide with helpful suggestions on what photographs well.

How far in advance should I book?

Some months fill up faster than others, especially around holidays, when I take time off, or September onwards is always very busy. The earlier you book, the more likely you’ll secure a date and time that works best for you. You can book sessions up to 6 months in advance, but booking 1–2 months ahead is usually ideal. Newborns should prebook during pregnancy to guarantee my availability when baby arrives.

What do we wear and bring?

Once you’ve booked your session, you’ll receive a confirmation email with my Session Prep Guide attached. This guide covers everything you need to know — including what to wear, what to bring, and helpful tips to ensure you’re fully prepared. Most of your questions will be answered there!

For outdoor sessions - What happens if the weather is bad?

No stress — I always build in flexibility. We'll reschedule at the earliest possible time that works for both of us.

My child is unwell, should we reschedule?

Yes, definitely reschedule if your child is unwell. Aside from the risk of spreading illness to me or other clients, sick children are often tired and not their usual selves during sessions. For the best possible photos and experience, it’s always better to wait until your little one is feeling better.
